The Cartoon Workshop exhibition, organized as part of the " Rıfat Ilgaz Writer of the Year" events, has opened. The exhibition, held at the Konak Cultural Center, features 51 cartoons drawn by children inspired by the story "Öksüz Civciv" (The Orphaned Chick), and will be open to visitors until November 12th.

The Cartoon Workshop Exhibition, organized by the Nilüfer Municipality as part of the "2025 Writer of the Year Rıfat Ilgaz" events, opened at the Konak Culture House. The workshop, which began in March under the direction of Mehmet Kahraman, included 48 children . The children first read Rıfat Ilgaz's short story collection "Öksüz Civciv" (Orphaned Chick), then interpreted the story in their own imaginations and incorporated it into their drawings. The workshop resulted in 51 cartoons.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Nilüfer Deputy Mayor Okan Şahin emphasized that Nilüfer is the capital of culture, art, and sports. Stating that young people, children, women, and disadvantaged groups are their priorities, Şahin said, “It is a pleasure for us to be with children. I would like to thank all the children who participated and submitted their works in this workshop, as well as our esteemed teacher and their families who contributed.” Instructor Mehmet Kahraman stated that the Writer of the Year Cartoon Workshop Exhibition has become a tradition. After the opening speeches, Okan Şahin presented Mehmet Kahraman with a gift in appreciation of his contributions. The “2025 Writer of the Year Rıfat Ilgaz: Cartoon Workshop Exhibition” can be visited free of charge at the Konak Culture House until November 12.
